Homeschooling in Nanaimo

Monthly Gatherings

Every first Friday of the month, NCHL families meet at Oliver Woods Community Centre (behind Nanaimo North Town Centre) from 1:00-4:00 pm to socialize and exercise. Kids of all ages get active in the gym and outdoor playground while parents share stories, ideas and resources in the meeting room. Featuring an extensive lending library and exchange table (where families can donate and/or pick up clothing, books, toys), the monthly meetings are a great place to connect with other parents who are taking the lead on their children's education and wellbeing. Tea and light snacks are available. Free for members, $5.00 drop-in fee for non-members.

Note: The September meeting takes place on the second Friday of the month.

Google Group and Newsletter

NCHL's Google group offers a place to ask questions, share resources, and perhaps start planning a new event, activity or program, with or for other homeschool families. Each month our Google group members receive the NCHL newsletter, featuring information about upcoming activities and events, homeschool tips, and advertisements from local businesses interested in tapping in to the homeschool market.
