Welcome to the Nanaimo Homeschooling Community!

Our group is a collection of about 60 families in and around the Nanaimo area who gather together to support one another on our homeschooling journeys. We are a diverse group with a variety of approaches to our home education philosophies and we believe there is great strength in that diversity.

Within our membership, you will find unschoolers, classical homeschoolers, eclectic homeschoolers, traditional homeschoolers, those who enroll with one of the many Distributed Learning programs available, and those who register under Sections 12/13 of the BC School Act. You will find a wealth of experienced home educating families and a great number of families just starting on their home learning adventure. You will find families who approach education from different faith-based perspectives and families who approach learning from a secular place. We have members from Nanaimo, Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Duncan, Lantzville, Parksville, and Qualicum Beach.
